Day 4: January 12: Rio / Iguazu:
This morning we will fly to Iguazu Falls Brazil. Few waterfalls in the world can compare to the beauty and majesty of Iguazu falls, and that includes Niagara Falls. Today we will visit the falls on the Brazil side, considered the best views of the falls. We will also visit the dam. Late this afternoon we will cross from Brazil into Argentina. Our 5 star hotel is located on the Argentine side of the falls.

Day 5: January 13: Iguazu Argentina:
We will spend the full day visiting the Iguazu on the Argentine side of the falls. We will also take a boat ride up close and personal to the falls on both the Argentine and Brazil side before returning to our hotel in Brazil. This will be a highlight day in your life, one you will remember forever.
Day 6: January 14: Iguazu / Buenos Aires – Board Ship:
This morning we will fly to Buenos Ares which is considered the “Paris of the South.” Your tour will include the Bocu district, the birth place of the Tango and the Plaza De Mayo where Evita Peron once addressed adorning masses. Our tour will also include Recoleta & Palarmo neighborhoods, the Pink House, The Cathedral, palaces and more. In the late afternoon we will check into our 5 star Holland America Cruise Line.
Day 7: January 15: Montevideo Uruguay
This morning we will arrive into Montevideo – We will offer our own optional shore excursion that will include Montevideo’s water front, Legislative Palace, parks, a trip to Montevideo Hill for a spectacular view and more before returning to our ship.
Day 8: January 16: Fun Day at Sea
Today will be a day to enjoy the relaxation and fun of a Holland America Cruise – we will also hold our own get together social, with drawings and prizes.
Day 9: January 17: Puerto Madryn Argentina
Mid morning we will arrive into Puerto Madryn. You will have a chance to explore this port city on your own or our optional shore excursions.
Day 10: January 18: Fun Day at Sea
Today will be a day to enjoy the relaxation and fun of a Holland America Cruise
Day 11: January 19: Falkland Islands (Stanley)
We will spend the day in the Falkland Islands. You can take our optional full day tour of Stanley and the surrounding countryside.
Day 12: January 20: Fun Day at Sea
Today will be a day to enjoy the relaxation and fun of a Holland America Cruise – we will also hold our own get-together social.
Day 13: January 21: The Antarctic Sound
At Hope Bay the scarlet chalets of Esperanza, an Argentine military and scientific station stand in stark contrast to the white ice. On Paulet Island you’ll seeseveral million Adélie penguins nest on every available beach. And at Elephant Island, hear the riveting account of Shackelton’s ill-fated expedition and the crew’s heroic daily struggle to survive.
Day 14: January 22: South Shetland Islands
Deception, Livingston & Half Moon Islands (Scenic Cruising). Don't be deceived: Deception Island is really the crescent-shaped caldera of a volcano active enough to heat Antarctic waters to bathwater temperatures. The MS Veendam will sail right by the crater, where several colonies of chinstrap penguins make their home on the black-sand beaches. More surprises await at Half Moon Island where whales are often seen patrolling the shores; and Livingston Island is home to huge elephant seals.
Day 15: January 23: Wilhelm Archipelago
Anvers Island (Palmer Station), Cuverville Island, Petermann Island. Skirt jagged ice cliffs to Anvers Island, home of the U.S. Biological Research Center, Palmer Station. (Perhaps we can entice the scientists to come aboard the MS Veendam to share their findings.) Next: the wide cobbled beaches of Cuverville Island, home to Antarctica's extensive colony of gentoo penguins. Finally, Petermann Island, where French explorer/scientist Dr. Jean-Baptiste Charcot studied a colony of Adélie penguins during the winter of 1909.
Day 16: January 24: Cape Horn and Drake Passage
Cape Horn marks the southernmost point of South America. The cape's steep and rocky cliffs rise up and extend into Drake Passage, where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet. Ancient mariners dreaded rounding the Cape because of its reputation for bad weather.
Day 17: January 25: Ushuaia (Tierra Del Fuego National Park) Argentina
Today we dock at Ushuaia, the most southern city in the world. We will offer our own optional shore excursion to the Tierra Del Fuego National Park. We will then sail into Cockburn and Beagle Channels. Charted by Charles Darwin on his exploratory cruise in 1832, these are two of the most vital channels in the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. At 150 miles long, the Beagle Channel separates the main island in the north from the small islands in the south. The Cockburn Channel offers breathtaking views of Romanche, Alemania, Francia and Italia glaciers.
Day 18: January 26: Punta Arenas & the Strait of Magellan.
This remote town, pioneered by Yugoslav settlers and sheep ranchers, sits on rolling hills overlooking the Strait of Magellan. You can explore on your own or take an optional shore excursion. The Strait of Magellan is where the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans converge. The Straight of Magellan lies along the southern edge of South America and was named by Ferdinand Magellan around 1520. The strait, protected by both the mainland and the islands of the Tierra Del Fuego archipelago, was considered safer than Cape Horn or Drake Passage. Views of Chile from the strait include stunning vistas and landscapes, tiny coves and picturesque inlets.
Day 19: January 27: Amalia Glacier Sarmiento Canal
The west side of the Sarmiento Canal is flanked by Madre de Dios Island, with towering limestone peaks. Amalia Glacier is blue and white, and home to penguins and seabirds.
Day 20: January 28: Fun Day at Sea

Day 21: January 29: Fun Day at Sea
Today will be a day to enjoy the relaxation and fun of a Holland America Cruise – we will also hold our own get-together final social, with drawings and prizes. Tomorrow we depart the ship and head home.
Day 22: January 30: Valparaiso / Santiago, Chile
This morning our ship docks in Valparaiso Chile. We include a tour where we will visit the historic port of Valparaiso and then continue along the coastline to Vina Del Mar, a seaside resort with palm tree-lined avenues and lovely villas, truly the “Pearl of the Pacific”. We will then transfer to your hotel and then overnight in Santiago.
Day 23: January 31: Today we will finish any missed sites including a city tour of Santiago. This evening we will transfer to the airport for your return flight home..
Day 24: February 01: Early morning arrival back into the US
