This is one tour that will cover the best of both worlds, a fantastic tour of Turkey along with the New Testament travels of the Apostles This is the 2nd Holy Land, after the death of Christ much of the New Testament was written in Turkey or written to the churches in Turkey.  You will be visiting areas that involve the book of Acts, Galatians, Colossians, Ephesians, Revelations, 1st Timothy and 2nd Timothy.  Our Special Guest Educator is an expert on the history of Turkey, the sites we will visit and the travels of the Apostles.

Day to Day Itinerary

 
Day 1: September 1
Today we will fly from the US to Istanbul Turkey
 
Day 2: September 2: Istanbul
Upon arrival we will immediately start our tour of this wonderful ancient city.   Our tour today will include the magnificent Hagia Sofia, Hippodrome and the stadium of ancient Byzantium, where an Egyptian obelisk and bronze sculpture of the entwined serpents from Delphi still survive. We then continue on to the Blue Mosque which owes its name to the exquisite tiles adorning its interior. In the afternoon we will visit the amazing Topkapi Palace, which from the 15th to the 19th Century was the principle residence of the Ottoman Sultans. Overnight Istanbul
 
Day 3: September 3: Istanbul – Cappadocia
We will start the day with a boat ride on the Bosporus, the water that separates Asia from Europe. We will be using a private ship so we can sail it all the way to the Black Sea. Istanbul is both in Asia and Europe. e. Early evening we will fly to Cappadocia
 
Day 4: September 4: Cappadocia
Today and tomorrow morning will be a highlight days as we explore the amazing mystical landscapes around Cappadocia. We experience the ancient underground cities of Kaymakli, Guverclnlik and Devrent Vallesy. We will also visit the natural rock castle at Uchisar; Avanos and Pasabaglari and the beautiful open-air museums at Zelve and Goreme. The remains of churches and Christian settlements date back thousands of years. This is a place where you simply let your mind wander and be amazed at the history and beauty of the region. Day 5: September 5: Cappadocia - Konya
Finish our tour of the Cappadocia area.  This afternoon we will drive to the city of Konya where overnighting in the best hotel in the area. 
 
Day 6:  September 6:  Konya – Pamukkale
Our morning will be spent visiting the Mevlana Museum and the tomb of Mevlana, the founder of the mystical Whirling Dervishes, Karatay Medrese and the Ince Minare, now a museum. This afternoon we will travel to Pamukkale, where we will overnight in a wonderful spa hotel. 
 
Day 7: September 7:  Pamukkale
Today you will discover the ancient tourist resort of Asia Minor, Hieraplis. Hierapolis was the ancient city located on top of the Pamukkale - the world famous snow-white terraced hot springs. Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage site. For those that want we will have time to take soak in the many hot springs before returning to our Resort/Spa located just below Hieraplis. 
 
Day 8: September 8: Aphrodisias – Kusadasi
This morning we will drive to Aphrodisias to explore the remains of the city where there was a school of sculpture in ancient times. We also visit the stadium and the temple of Aphrodite. Late this afternoon we will arrive in Kusadasi near to Ephesus. Overnight Kusadasi.
 
Day 9: September 9: Kusadasi – Ephesus
Today is another highlight day as we visit Ephesus and the surrounding area. We will start with the house of the Virgin Mary on top of Bulbul Mountain and then proceed to the ancient city of Ephesus where you will explore some of the best preserved theaters, fountains and buildings found anywhere in the world. We will return early afternoon to your beautiful beach front resort in time to enjoy a little beach time and relaxation.  Overnight Kusadasi.
 
Day 10: September 10: Kusadasi – Philadelphia – Sardis – Smyrna (Revelation ancient cities)
This morning we will head north and inland to visit ancient cities of Philadelphia, Sardis and Smyrna.  We will return to Kusadasi and overnight. 
 
Day 11: September 11: Ephesus – Istanbul
This morning we will fly from Izmir to Istanbul. You will have plenty of time to shop for those important turkey souvenirs as we will spend the morning in the Grand Bazaar. The Grand Bazaar is a gigantic flee market of shops that is a shoppers dream come true – Late this afternoon the group splits. Those that are going home will travel to the hotel near the Istanbul airport. Those that have understood how fantastic a tour of Romania is will fly this evening to Bucharest to overnight.
 
Day 12: September 12: Fly Home
This Morning, those going home will transfer to the Istanbul airport for you flight back to the US and home.
