Rarely have we found the right cruise that includes Greenland. Greenland is that one pin on the map that is hard to come by. In 2025, we found a wonderful cruise with Holland America that starts in Boston and then travels up through Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador (the remote parts of Canada), before arriving in Greenland. After two stops in Greenland, it is off to Iceland and Norway before ending in the Netherlands. Between our cruise and our land tour, you will also experience the Scandinavian Countries of Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The ship stops in Norway and also visits one of the stunning Norwegian Fjords. Another Special Highlight

As part of his lectures, Michael Wilcox is going to go through the history of the Pilgrims who came to America on the Mayflower. Before we board the ship in Boston, we are going to Plymouth Rock to visit the replica of the Mayflower followed by a stop at the wonderful Plymouth Plantation that is like a living museum as you step back in time to what it was like when the Pilgrims first arrived. Than at the other end in Rotterdam after getting off our ship, we will visit the site where the Pilgrims started their journey to America.

Day 1: July 18: Fly to Boston, Massachusetts
Upon arrival you will transfer to your 4-Star Deluxe Hotel in the Boston area.

Day 2: July 19: Boston – Holland America Cruise Ship
One of Michael’s lectures will be discussing the Pilgrims, where they started, along with their journey to America. Our tour today will take us to Plymouth Rock where the Pilgrims landed. We will visit a replica of the Mayflower ship that the Pilgrims sailed to America on. After that we will visit the Plimoth Plantation. It is a living museum of how the pilgrims first lived after coming to America. Afterwards, we will return to Boston to board our beautiful Holland America Cruise Ship.

Day 3: July 20: Portland, Maine
For those doing our shore excursion package today we will spend the day in historic and picturesque Portland.  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow named his hometown “A Jewel by the Sea”.  You will see why as you learn about Portland’s history.  Portland’s rocky coastline necessitated the use of lighthouses.  On this tour we will visit one of the most prominent lighthouses in the area; the Portland Head Lighthouse. George Washington ordered the construction of the lighthouse in 1787, however, as the colonies were poor they had to use materials that were close to hand.  The original “rubble stone” tower still stands as one of the few colonial lighthouses that have never been rebuilt.  The tour will continue with a visit to Kennebunkport.   Kennebunkport was founded in 1653 and was a major ship building center in the 1800’s.  It is now better known for its scenery, beautiful seaside estates, picturesque harbors, quaint shops and galleries.  It is also the summer home to former President George Bush.

Day 4: July 21: At Sea
Today is a fun day at sea. We will also meet with Michael, our educator today.

Day 5: July 22: Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada
For those doing our shore excursion package today we begin in Sydney which was founded in 1758 by Col. J. F.W. Des Barres, Sydney was first settled by Loyalists from New York State. Immigrants from the Scottish Highlands followed 20 years later and added much of the Scottish flavor we see today. Sydney boomed at the turn of the century with the building of the Dominion Steel and Coal Company plant at Whitney Pier. This plant was the largest self-contained steel plant in North America and is still the city’s major industry. Next we visit Glace Bay. This former coal mining town got its name from the French word for ice, because of the drift ice in the harbor. During the 1950s and 60s Glace Bay’s population was more than 28,000 inhabitants, making it the largest town in Canada at the time. While here we visit the Miners’ Museum. This museum focuses on the contribution of coal and the people who mined it to the development of modern Western civilization.  To make the best of this tour be sure to wear warm clothing and good walking shoes.

Day 6: July 23: Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada

Day 7: July 24: Red Bay, Labrador, Canada

Day 8: July 25: At Sea
Today is a fun day at Sea. We will also meet with Michael, our educator today.

Day 9: July 26: Paamiut, Greenland
Paamiut is embodied by winter slopes and majestic wildlife with eagles. There are only about 1,500 people that live here. We will NOT be doing a shore excursion.  Note: In Greenland, the communities are so small, we are unable to organize our own shore excursions. You can see if the ship offers shore excursions in Greenland.

Day 10: July 27: Nanortalik, Greenland
Nanortalik, which means “the place with polar bears”. Founded in 1797 as a trading depot at the mouth of the Tasermiut Fjord, the village is currently the home of about 1,000 people. You may not see polar bears, but what you will find is a place of majestic beauty and friendly welcoming residents. This stop will be exploring on your own. In the late afternoon the ship will cruise to Prince Christian Sound.

Today is a fun day at sea. We also meet with our educator Michael Wilcox.

Day 13: July 30: Isafjordur, Iceland
If possible, we will be doing our own offered shore excursion.  We will not know until around 4 months prior to departure.  Often times in these very small towns the cruise line controls 100% of any buses in the entire area.  Isafjordur is often described as the capital of north Iceland, the country’s second-largest city is both vibrant and pretty and serves as an ideal hub for exploring the incredible landscape that surrounds it. After departure, we will do scenic cruising of Isafjardurdjur which includes the stunning waterfall of Dynjandi to the vast Hornstradir Nature Reserve where you can see the largest colony of seabirds in the North Atlantic. Along Iceland’s spectacular coastline, glacier-carved green mountains stand in contrast against the deep blue sea.

Day 14: July 31: Akureyri, Iceland
If possible, we will be doing our own offered shore excursion of Akureyri. We will not know until around 4 months prior to departure.  This will be announced about 4 months before departure. Often times in these very small towns the cruise line controls 100% of any buses in the entire area.  After the ship departs, we will sail through Eyjafjordur – it is one of Iceland’s longest fjords. Lined with peaks that descend to the water’s edge. The small island of Hrisey sits smack in the middle of it – inhabited since the 9th century.

Day 15: August 1: At Sea
Today is a fun day at sea. We also meet with Michael today.

Day 17: August 3: Eidfjord Norway
We are hoping  to put together a shore excursion today.  We will not know if this is possible until around 4 months before departure.  Often times in these very small towns the cruise line controls 100% of any buses in the entire area.

Day 18: August 4: At Sea
Today is a fun day at sea. We also meet with Michael today.

Day 19: August 5: Rotterdam – Copenhagen
Before we head to the airport to fly to Stockholm, we will do a little touring in Rotterdam on our way to the port where the Pilgrims left from. The Pilgrims were not from England, they were from the area around Rotterdam. After Michael’s talk, we will head to the airport to fly to Copenhagen where we will stay overnight for the next 2 nights.

Day 20: August 6: Copenhagen
Today will be a full day tour that will take you to the Denmark countryside where we will visit one of the top castles in the world, Frederiksberg Castle. On our way back to Copenhagen we will drive by the Kronborg Castle, which was also immortalized in William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. This afternoon we will visit the Little Mermaid and the Church of Our Lady, where you will see the Christus that the LDS church replicated for Temple Square. When we are done with the tour we will again overnight in Copenhagen.

Day 21: August 7: Copenhagen – Stockholm 
This morning we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Stockholm.  Today we will do a tour of Stockholm that will feature the fantastic Vasa Museum. The Vasa is the world’s only surviving 17th-century ship and one of the foremost tourist sites in the world. The ship is displayed in a museum in Stockholm. We will also enjoy a tour of the city including the city hall and visit to a living museum that has many old buildings from the early years in Sweden. This evening we will transfer to our hotel where we overnight.

Day 22: August 8: Fly Home
This morning we will transfer to the airport for our flight back to the United States and back to our home.
