Majestic Canadian Rockies Train

See the beauty of the Rockies on The Mountaineer Train! Voted 8 years in a row "The BEST Train Trip in the World" 14 day train tour - August 11, 2025

The BEST Seats on the Train

We wanted the best for our passengers, so all of our passengers will be traveling in “The Best Train Trip in the World” Luxury First Class GoldLeaf Train Cars! They offer two classes of service, SilverLeaf and GoldLeaf. The SilverLeaf Train Cars have large windows but not domed windows, they serve the meals at your seat and do not include the top luxury hotels. This is not what we wanted for our passengers. All of our passengers will be traveling in the GoldLeaf Train Cars! The Luxury GoldLeaf Train Cars are two levels or two stories, with an elevator. The upper area is the luxury “first-class” seating area with a completely domed glass roof, creating unobstructed views from every seat. On the bottom level of each GoldLeaf Car is a 5-star restaurant only open to those in that GoldLeaf Car. All meals on the train are included. In the GoldLeaf Cars you will indulge your senses with gourmet meals prepared by Executive Chefs. Also, on the bottom floor of every GoldLeaf Car is an exclusive outdoor viewing platform. Throughout the two days of travel by train, you can step outside onto your outdoor viewing platform to enjoy the fresh air or to take that perfect picture.

The very BEST in Hotels

The “Best Train Trip in the World” needed to have the BEST in Luxury Hotels! The very BEST Luxury Hotels in Canada are the iconic Fairmont Hotels. They are extremely hard to get into for groups, they usually prefer individual bookings as they can often get 100’s of dollars more per room per night. It often takes us months to finally arrange all the hotels we want at a date that will also match reserving our train seats all in GoldLeif train cars. This is the rare opportunity to stay in the “Castle in the Rockies” Fairmont Springs Hotel in Banff, the “Castle in the City” Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, the Iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria and the Luxurious Fairmont Chateau Whistler. They are hotels everyone longs to experience, but rarely can afford. Our negotiated group pricing has put all of these iconic luxurious hotels within your reach. Combining the luxury iconic Fairmonts with the upgraded GoldLeaf Train service does make this tour a little more expensive – but it is far less than if you tried to do this train trip and hotels on your own. You only live once and this special train trip will bring you memories that will last the rest of your life. It is worth every penny!

There is no other program that can compare to what this special unique tour has to offer! Our tour is not a copy of others. We have evaluated everything there is to see and experience in upper Washington, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Alberta, and the majestic Canadian Rockies. We combined some of the best places to see and experience with the “World’s Best Train.” We start in Seattle, heading north to Fidalgo Island, where we will stay overnight. While there, we will tour Fidalgo Island and take a ferry through the San Juan Islands, with a stop in San Juan’s Islands Friday Harbour (a walking town). We then travel by ferry to the wonderfully picturesque town of Port Townsend before overnighting in Port Angeles. Before heading by ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island, we will spend a day on one of the most beautiful drives in the U.S. as we visit Olympic National Park and its picturesque rainforest. From our gorgeous hotel on Victoria Harbour, we will tour the area, along with visiting the beautiful and famous Butchart Gardens. Then it’s back on a ferry to the mainland and on to the wonderful ski resort village of Whistler and our Fairmont Chateau. Whistler is even more picturesque in the summer. From there, we head to Vancouver and our luxury Castle in the City Fairmont Hotel.

When you think it couldn’t get better, we enter the highlight after highlight section of our tour as we board our GoldLeaf train car for our trip through the majestic Canadian Rockies. You will all be in the luxury “First” class seating, as everyone will be in Rocky Mountaineer’s GoldLeaf two-story train car – with its 5-star restaurant and outdoor observation deck on the bottom floor and its full domed glass roof, giving completely unobstructed views, on the top floor. When there are wonderful restaurants and café’s nearby serving similar food at a fraction of the cost, we did not include meals at some of the hotels, which would have increased the price of the tour.
