For years we have been looking for the right cruise to do a South Pacific cruise. Royal Caribbean, Princess, Holland America and others only ever offer 30 to 40-day repositioning cruises that stop in 8 or so ports of call and have about 20 to 30 days at sea. Over a year ago, we found the right cruise on a smaller ship. We requested a sailing for a group in both the late spring and fall of 2025 and again the late spring and fall of 2026. In two years of requesting, we were able to get only one group – June of 2026. We are not sure when we will be able to get another sailing or if they will continue to offer this special itinerary.
This ship’s itinerary was the best we had seen, but it did not include everything we wanted for our passengers. To improve the experience of our passengers, we added 6 nights 7 days of deluxe hotels along with additional touring in Tonga, Fiji and Tahiti. We have included two airfares Fiji to Tonga and Tonga back to Fiji, along with Luxury Beach Resort Hotels in Fiji and Tahiti.
The ship has 11 ports of call AND we have arranged our own private shore excursions in 8 of the 11 ports of call. We have also included special touring in Fiji and Tonga before getting on the ship along with touring in Tahiti after getting off the ship. Along with buses, guides and entrance fees, we really do have a complete fantastic South Pacific Package.

Itinerary
The itinerary is subject to change as needed to accomplish everything we can in each area we visit. We will have local guides who will make sure we see the very best in the time we have.
Day 1: June 14:
Late afternoon flight from home to Los Angeles. Your flight will depart late this evening from Los Angeles to Fiji.
Day 2: June 15:
Lose a day as you pass through the International Date Line.
Day 3: June 16: Fiji – Tonga
This morning, we will arrive into Fiji. We will enjoy a brief overview tour on our layover, including stops at the Botanical Gardens and the Marina, before returning to the airport to fly to Tonga. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel where we will spend the next 2 nights.
Day 4: June 17: Tonga (Eastern District)
Today we will enjoy a tour of the Eastern District of Tongatapu. Along the way, we will see several important sites that pertain to the history and culture of Tonga, including the Royal Palace, which is still home to Tonga’s royal family. Since this is their official residence, it is not open to the public, we will see this wooden palace that was built in 1867 from outside the gate. We will also visit the ancient terraced royal tombs, Langi, as well as Ha’amonga, which is a historic park on the site of the second capital of ancient Tonga. We also see the landing site of Captain James Cook. The day will conclude back at the hotel.
Day 5: June 18: Tonga (Western District) – Fiji
We will visit the Western District of Tongatapu. Today we will see many of the natural wonders that make Tonga such an amazing place to visit, including the majestic blowholes- Mapu a Vaea, Tsunami Rock, and the Flying Fox (aka fruit bats) Sanctuary, where we have the opportunity to see the bats clinging upside down to the trees. (Because they are wild animals, we cannot guarantee that you will see them). Later we return to Nukualofa to visit the Women’s Art and Craft Centre before we continue to the airport to catch our flight to Fiji. Upon arrival, transfer to our hotel.
Day 6: June 19: Nadi, Fiji
Today, our tour takes us to the heart of Fiji. You will cruise up the longest river on the island, the Sigatoka River, aboard a jet boat. The river sustains the small villages that dot its shores. Upon arrival at a local village, you will be welcomed by villagers (the tour company is careful to visit different villages to minimize the impact of tourism) and brought to the community hall. Here you will participate in a traditional kava ceremony. The day concludes with a jet boat ride back to the dock and then a bus ride back to the resort.
Day 7: June 20: Nadi, Fiji
You have a free day to relax and enjoy the resort.
Day 8: June 21: Nadi, Fiji
We have a free morning before we transfer to Lautoka to board the Norwegian Spirit Cruise Ship.
Day 9: June 22: Dravuni, Fiji
Today is a free day. Dravuni is often referred to as “The beautiful island with the beautiful people”. We recommend that you spend this free day enjoying the small village, relaxing on the beach or taking a swim in the crystal-clear turquoise water.
Day 10: June 23: Suva, Fiji
Today we will enjoy a full-day tour of Suva. Suva is the capital of the South Pacific Island nation of Fiji and is its largest city. It is known for its British colonial architecture, lively markets, and friendly locals. Our tour begins with an overview of Suva and includes highlights such as the Suva Market, the Arts Village and a photo stop at the LDS Temple.
Day 11: June 24: DAY AT SEA
Enjoy a relaxing Day at Sea.
Day 12: June 25: Apia, Samoa
Robert Louis Stevenson, author of such works as Treasure Island, Kidnapped and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde retired to Samoa in the late 1800’s. Here, he wrote David Balfour, the sequel to Kidnapped, and became known to the locals as Tusitala, or “teller of tales.” Once we get closer to our sail date, we will announce our excursion for today.
Please note: Since we will be crossing the International Dateline tonight, we will experience June 25th TWICE!
Day 13:June 25: Pago Pago, American Samoa
Our shore excursion includes a scenic tour of Pago Pago. We begin the day at the National Park visitors center before heading up and over the Afono Pass for an up-close look at Rainmaker Mountain and a breathtaking view of Pago Pago harbor. We’ll then descend into the National Park villages of Afono and then Vatia to see Pola Island. We then make a photo stop at the Flower Pot Rock, which is a tiny islet topped with lush foliage and is home to a variety of sea birds and bats. Our final stop of the day will be at Utulei Beach. Then, we will return to the cruise ship.
Day 14: June 26: DAY AT SEA
Enjoy a relaxing Day at Sea.
Day 15: June 27: Aitutaki, Cook Islands
Today our excursion takes us on a cruise aboard a Polynesian-style catamaran through Aitutaki’s magnificent lagoon. We will make a stop for snorkeling at Coral Heads to view coral reefs and lagoon marine life. Additionally, we visit several motu (small islets) such as Motu Akaiami, Motu Rakau, and of course, the legendary Motu Tapuaetai (One Foot Island). The day will conclude back at the ship.
Day 16: June 28: Rarotonga, Cook Islands
Today you will have a free day to wander and enjoy this beautiful island. The Cook Islands are a South Pacific nation with a traditional Polynesian culture and governmental ties to New Zealand. Of the nation’s 15 islands, Rarotonga is the youngest, geologically speaking. The landscape hints at the relaxed lifestyle its 10,000 residents enjoy: There’s only one main road—without a single stoplight—following the 20-mile perimeter. The island’s most visible landmark is a towering granite pinnacle known as the Needle, which rises from razor-backed ridges. Rarotonga’s other main calling cards are its Muri Lagoon, a dazzling patchwork of soothing blue hues, and its extraordinary people.
Day 17: June 29: DAY AT SEA
Enjoy a relaxing Day at Sea
Day 18: June 30: Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Our shore excursion will discover the beauty of the ever-changing colors of the lagoon of Bora Bora. Departing the pier, we cruise past the ancient crater rim of Motu Toopua and by the famous Motu Tapu to drop anchor on a shallow sand bank where we may see stingrays. Next, we stop outside of a lagoon where black-tipped sharks are often spotted. Here you will have the option of getting in the water. However, you can usually see the sharks from the boat if you are not comfortable getting in the water. As with all creatures in their natural environment, there is no guarantee of the presence of these wild animals.
Day 19: July 1: Raiatea, French Polynesia
Today will be a free day to wander this beautiful island.
Day 20: July 2: Moorea, French Polynesia
Today our shore excursion enjoys the island of Mo’orea as our guide relates about the island’s history, and culture as we travel along Mo’orea’s lush Opunohu Valley. The valley is home to a number of Polynesian marae (open-air temples). Next, we ascend the slopes of Mt. Tohi’e’a. At the summit of Mt. Tohi’e’a, we stop to enjoy the lovely panoramas of Mo’orea’s mountains and Cook’s and Opunohu Bays. Later we enjoy the views from Toatea Lookout.
Day 21: July 3: Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia
Today we say goodbye to our cruise ship and begin the day by heading towards the northern part of the island. Today’s adventures include stops at Point Venus, the blowholes, the LDS Temple, and more before concluding the day at the resort, where we will spend the final night of this incredible tour.
Day 22: July 4: Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia – Fly Home
You will have the morning free to relax and enjoy the resort before we enjoy an overview tour of the area on our way to the airport to catch our international flights home.
Day 23: July 5: Home
We will arrive back into the US today.
